​Best Practices for Documenting Toolbox Talks

To ensure Ash Electric maintains accurate safety records and meets OSHA expectations, foremen should follow these documentation guidelines:

• Hold toolbox talks at the start of each shift or before beginning a high-risk task.

• Record the date, jobsite, project name/number, and topic covered.

• Collect printed signatures from all crew members present during the talk.

• Submit completed toolbox talk forms to the Safety Director or HR weekly so they can be logged and retained for compliance.

• Note any hazards, corrective actions, or crew questions that come up during the discussion, this helps improve future safety training and supports continuous improvement.

• Keep a digital or physical copy on-site in case of audits, inspections, or GC/Owner requests.
